Los Vegas Zoo - Fossa's enclosure

Probably for me, the most saddest part of the zoo was that there two fossa exhibits ( or three cubicles as you see here and one larger but still not large enough exhibit that was covered by bamboo ) were empty and the female was nursing three cubs. I can\'t believe a Fossa would mate in these conditions or even give birth to healthy babies.

Things may have actually gotten worse since my visit some 20 years ago!

Dreadful, but Fossa do seem to be beasts that expect little from their keepers. Duisburg bred them repeatedly, and over many years, in an exhibit where I don't think it would have occurred to me to have put Grey Parrots.
