The park does not close, and you could go in at any time of the night if you wished. We arrived just before dusk and stayed until it was dark as we called in on the way back from a long day at Wilhelma.

Is the theme of this zoo basically native European animals with some random "exotics" thrown in (e.g., raccoons, guanacos, raccoon dogs)? Do they offer "night safari" type tours?

Broadly, yes - though both raccoons and Raccoon Dogs are wild(/feral!) in Germany.

Not that I'm aware of - they just don't close!
