@snowleopard: I've read that there is a spider exhibit in the Louisville Zoo giraffe house. Did you get a chance to see it, and if so how was it? I've looked through the whole gallery and nobody has taken any pictures of it. Was the giraffe house closed when you were at this zoo? I think I remember that from your review...
You have a great memory! I visited that zoo with my good friend Allen Nyhuis ("America's Best Zoos" author) and he was celebrating his birthday the very same day. The giraffe house was indeed closed, which was a pity as I wanted to see the home of the Steller's sea eagles as well as the various invertebrate enclosures. Those are spectacular birds and I'm glad that Glacier Run will allow for them to have a new habitat near the polar bears, seals and sea lions.
I was going to take photos but there were major glares on the glass of the other exhibits across from it.
