Nilgai : Whipsnade : 02 Aug 2015

Boselaphus tragocamelus. Two adult females with (afaik) the third, fourth and fifth calves of 2015.

Very encouraging to see the rejuvenation of Nilgai at Whipsnade. Do you know if they died out entirely from Whipsnade before the new stock arrived?

Hopefully the Blackbuck with follow suit.

The nilgai are definite favourites of mine. And it seems that the previous herd did die out* (or leave), with Whipsnade presumably being nilgai-less for six years or so, prior to the current stock arriving.
