What is the latest time frame for a brand new orangutan exhibit? I can recall seeing this grim enclosure on my visit in 2008, and it challenges Pittsburgh, Fort Wayne and other zoos as one of the worst ape enclosures in North America.
I'm not completely sure, it was probably mentioned on the Toronto forums. However, someone on the forums mentioned that the outdoor enclosure for the orangutans could be built between the Indo-Malayan Pavilion and Malayan Wood Pavilion or would be placed where the Sumatran tigers are atm. The boardwalk would be the viewing areas, much like the outdoor exhibit at the Woodland Park Zoo.
Probably my least favorite enclosure at the zoo. I'm glad there's talk about them getting a new exhibit!
