Knowing that Idaho Falls Zoo is the only North American zoo to keep them, how long have they kept them and where were they sourced from?
    • Ituri
I can't answer either question and unfortunately, I don't believe they still have them.

Just a note, their bird collection is greatly reduced from what it once was overall.

@Ituri darn it! Thank you for letting me know. So which other species did they keep that they no longer have?

@UngulateNerd92 Of course! Nothing too extraordinary in their collection. Black-headed parrots are popular in aviculture but I do not know many zoos who exhibit them. The greater rheas are a treat of course. Otherwise the collection is fairly similar to many other zoos I have seen.

@zoocentral no problem. Are you an aviculturist yourself? You seem quite knowledgeable and passionate.
