Plock Zoo / May 2005

Young male Indian elephants. THISIAM - arrived October 2002 from Paris Vincennes Zoo. SANTOSH - arrived April 2003 from Copenhagen Zoo. Unfortunately SANTOSH died suddenly in February 2006. As you may see they were apparently chained, well at least for the nights.

I think the chains are just for easy handling trough the fence, not for chaining them at night. Bindu in Köln has also these chains.
