Porcupine enclosure, July 2013

Rather an interesting set-up. There\'s a bit with softer substrate behind, but at the front of this exhibit is this shelf, whereon the animals are separated from people by a single electric wire. It would be very easy to lean over and pet a porcupine - and presumably not too hard for the animal to leap across the wire if it so desired. Excellent!
