Ringneck Pheasant?

Is this a common Ringneck Pheasant? The reason I ask is all the ones I've seen in the wild (Scotland) are predominantly brown whereas the ones at Knowlsey have a lot of blue grey plumage on the back and wings.

Yes it is. Pheasants are heavily hybridised in the U.K. This specimen seems to have a lot of P.c.satscheuensis blood in it.

Pheasants are bred and plantations are grown to encourage pheasants to breed in and around the Knwsley estate as they have regular shoots in the hunting season for Lord Derby (Lord of the Knowsley Estate) and his acquaintances, so there are all sorts of hybrids knocking about their. I have seen the odd black pheasant too their.
