Small Mammal House exterior Chester Zoo 22 July 1982
The small mammal house at Chester Zoo was built in 1960 and demolished in 1998 to make way for an extension of the elephant enclosure. The Rhinoceros House can be seen on the left. The concrete enclosures stood either side of the entrance, and when the house was refurbished they were replaced by two aviary type enclosures for marmosets and tamarins. I'm not sure of the date, but I would guess about 1986 or 1987. If anyone knows differently please post.
