Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Vallejo, July 2008. Somehow didn't realize I had an unusual porcupine here till now. Can someone ID?

As @Hipporex has made no mention of a tree porcupine, assuming this animal is gone, especially 11 years later.

I'd say this is Mexican Hairy Dwarf Porcupine :)

@ThylacineAlive Thanks Thylo! Do you know the rarity of these in NA zoos?
    • ThylacineAlive
@Great Argus It's been a while since I looked into it but no more than five zoos hold the species, with all but one holding a single male. Until very recently every zoo held them behind the scenes as well, though Philadelphia appears to have put their very old retired program porcupine on-exhibit.
