Subur the Sumatran rhino
Subur the Sumatran rhino in her "rainforest habitat" at the Zoological Museum of Copenhagen. Subur was a female Sumatran rhino living in Copenhagen Zoo from 1959 to 1972 and achieved world fame for living unusually long for a sumatran rhino in captivity at the time. Unfortunately, a mate was never found for her so she never bred. The sign next to Subur at the museum says that there are only about 850 sumatran rhinos left in the wild. However, just 30 years later that estimate has been lowered to around 275.
