    Currently NO elephants can be imported. It could be some time before approval is granted for an import of either species.

    I realise that this question displays my ignorance, but do African bulls undergo musth like Asian bulls do?

    the opening created by biosecurity to import the thai elephants has expired. in what way i don't know.

    Yes, but that is something I only discovered quite recently- I'd always assumed they didn't though I don't know why. I've always associated it just with Asians- probably because of the closer human/elephant contact in that species and the frequent stories of Asian bulls in musth becoming dangerous etc.
