Seriously? Doesn’t sound very realistic. I’m going to have an Ostrich in only 2 days! I’d love to have an Ostrich one day, but I don’t think it will happen in 48 hours. I’ll give myself the next 10 years! I’ll provide photos when I get my first Ostrich. Lol But, good luck to you! It’s not realistic, but good luck anyway. Does anybody on here actually own a zoo? That would be cool. Owning a zoo would be pretty neat. I think a private collection would be more my speed, though. Anyway, good luck!

A long way off staring! I am classified as A featured extra, it is brilliant experience, allot of work and a great opportunity as l only started in the industry 18 months ago and this kind of gig is usually given to a far more experienced person.

    Hi all,
Started this thread 9th September 2010. Did not archive goal by a looong shot, however allot closer now than before!

So will say it again “I will have a zoo in 1000 days”

    Wish me luck :)

Attached is a couple of pictures of a bird aviary just completed in my front garden.

My friends are all taking my dream allot more serious when they see my “Australian Native Finch Aviary”, yep and signage is a total fail lol.

    Gouldian,
    Stunning colours.

    Painted,
The friendliest birds in aviary to date, very curious and like to sit close and watch me.

    Black Throated,
The little finch that may stop the Adani mine in QLD!

    Painted Red & Yellow,
    Gorgeous mutation.

    Red Faced Parrot,
The most active birds in aviary.

    Tricolour Parrot Finch,
    Beautiful colour.

    Star Finch,
These are a local wild bird as well.

    Crimson Finch,
Waiting for these young birds to colour up they are a rich crimson colour.

    Red Bishop Weaver,
Looks like a household sparrow, then in spring goes stunning red and black and will weave a nest as name suggest. apparently will be the stars of the aviary 6 months of the year.

    Yellow Siskin,
Just a lone male atm but hopefully getting a female tomorrow.

    Koi fish.

Plant native plants that are eaten by insects. The insects will find them.

This is an incredible project and I wish you all the luck in the world :)
Remember: it is almost always better to do one or two enclosures beautifully, realistically and with care than to do tons and leave it looking like a Texas roadside zoo :D
