I feel like the protests against these imports are futile. China seems to have a great infrastructure within Africa to the point where my crazy mind would say that China is colonializing the continent. Companies with a good standing with the government probably could do as they please and get the animals of their choice (except for that one controversial shipment of Congo animals) especially if the animals are given away from their native country.
