    Bison are a plains species aurochs were river bottom and woodland species. You have obtained genetic material from any of the auroch projects?

    The American Plains Bison (Bison bison bison) is a plains (sub)species; the aptly named American Wood bison (Bison bison athabascae) is considered a woodland (sub)species. Speaking of subspecies & habitats: at least for the European aurochs subspecies Bos primigenius primigenius, various habitats, including open grasland, wetlands and forests, have been mentioned.
