Animal holograms and virtual zoos

    A zoo with artifical animals is largely lifeless, you might as well go to a natural history museum. In fact, a natural history museum would be better, at least most of those stuffed animals where alive at some point.

    The idea might seem compelling at first, but it gets tired very quickly. It's the same reason why we don't live in tubes with our faces attached to screens looking at virtual worlds, owning our virtual lands, interacting with artifical intellegences and other people that live in tubes despite the fact that with the technology we have, we very easily could.

    The fact is that even though we're more sedentary as a species, humans are still grounded in reality,most of us have the natural urge to leave the house from time to time and interact with physical things, especially living things with personalities and histories that are far more compelling and complex than what can be written into code.
