there are 3 gorrilla taxa, mountain, eastern lowland, and western lowland, am i right, i always get this one confused, i no there are 3 but im not sure,

and gorrillas in the swamp, i guess u are referring to bia's in the rainforests of africa, these are spectacular places, where all the animals gather to drink, and they are created by elephants did u know.

i still carnt beleive the platypus are the most expensive animals to maintain, thts amazing!!!!

bai's are amazing places - i have always wanted one of our zoos to recreate one with bongo, congo buffalo, gorillas etc. using wet moats (as there are in the bai's) to seperate the ungulates from the gorillas.

of course forest elephants, grey parrots, guereza colobus, red river hogs and just about everything else live here too. amazing. watch the BBC congo doco or read the megatransect articles in national geo....(if ya already haven't).

as for the gorilla question. nice try guys - Zoo_Boy you are close but actually not quite right. i'll leave it to anyone else to have a guess before i reveal the answer.

an intest of mine too mark. i just had to look up the latin spelling of a couple. but since you had aalready had a crack and not mentioned the other subspecies and more imporatantly the new classification of the eastern and western forms as seperate species - i thought i would ACCUSE YOU!!!

i have no idea how much any polar bears weigh. id'e say a very, very big one might get close to a tonne?
