Oh okay I didn’t know that, I’m new, although I have been observing the website forums, and found images to use as inspiration for my zoos in planet zoo, I’ve also really enjoyed Geomorph’s zoo reviews.

There are Dugongs in Jakarta, Singapore and previously the Gold Coast? I thought they were only kept at Sydney Aquarium and Toba Aquarium.

 

Like the dugongs being discussed Javan bantengs aren't super rare but aren't easy to see in the US so yes they are somewhat rare as for Burma Bantengs, they are definitely rare. Anoas are harder to find in Europe but are somewhat rare in the US.

 

Bush dog is at 6 places in Japan. Secretary bird is common in Europe.

 

But there arent a lot of Zcters that have been to Japan

 

1) Oh, and there's over 2 dozen European zoos with bush dog.

2) Then we need to advertise this site better in Japan so Japanese zoo fans can join. I know a few folks with blogs and excellent photos, but I have yet to reach out to any of them.

 

I tried posting a link to a fan page of Kobe animal Kingdom. But the group didn’t seem to have English speakers.

 

Yeah, when I was there it took them a while to find me an English-speaking staff member to translate my requests to see offshow animals. Ultimately they gave me a tour of the grounds and I made some friends.

I also remember seeing both hawksbill sea turtles (Idk if they are uncommon) and Amazonian manatees. I have also seen an albino cayman.

I saw the hawksbill sea turtle at the Rio de Janeiro zoo (she was being held there because the zoo was doing a partnership with Projeto TAMAR (a Brazilian non-profit organization whose main objective is to protect sea turtles from extinction in the Brazilian coastline)). I saw both the Amazonian manatee and the albino cayman at the São Paulo aquarium.
