The prairie chicken by at least a few Texas facilities, working to stabilize the wild population.

Any on display? Are they around in the private trade?

Looks like Abilene and Houston have them on display, maybe Caldwell still does too. Fossil Rim's breeding complex can be seen, but I understand the birds themselves are difficult to see at the range of viewing.

I doubt any are in the private trade, they are a federally protected and regulated species.

I know they’re out there, but where are Indian rock pythons kept? Why are they so uncommon in both zoos and the pet trade, compared to Burmese pythons?

A quick search at Zootierliste will answer your question in regard to European zoos. The species is less common in the exotic pet trade than the Burmese python, but not that rare.

In America I’ve never seen one. It’s the only Jungle Book character I’ve yet to see IRL.

Those zoos keep the Attwater's Prairie-Chicken, which is a subspecies of Greater. I believe Houston merely collects eggs and hatches them before re-releasing them into the wild.

Which species of lamprey and hagfish are kept in captivity? What are lampreys in aquariums fed? I've seen 2-3 hagfish species in Asia, and I vaguely remember seeing one in Connecticut as a kid. Also, are lancelets kept in any aquarium?

Most species of hagfish in aquariums are pacific hagfish. But I bet some Japanese aquarium has a different specie(s). I have only seen sea lampreys in captivity but I heard some place had brook lampreys. Not sure which though. Lanclets? Highly doubt it. I did my research and I didn't find any place that had them. The internet does not know everything though! Keep your hopes up but I don't think Lanclets are anywhere in captivity.

    Best wishes, Luke.

Hi Luke, do you have pictures of sea lampreys? How was their husbandry?

I do, But I am still a relatively new member to zoo chat and I am not really sure how to post pictures yet. Mind helping? In the tank they had around 7-10 individuals. I saw the sea lampreys at the Great Lakes aquarium in Duluth Mn.
