Australia Zoo and the Crocodile egg harvesting : Australia Zoo's approach to crocodile egg harvesting debate criticised by NT scientist
Australia zoo has just given away a new Toyota Prado and a new age Caravan, but not given away any information regarding future developments!
Australia Zoo have recieved 0:2 cheetah (‘Emmy’ and ‘Liberty’) from South Africa. These will be ambassador animals. 7 News Sunshine Coast
It appears AZ has 3 new Black & White Ruffed Lemur brothers just over a year old join the collection No mention of any females at this point all the appear to be in the off exhibit holding area at this time. Perhaps, I hope they will get their own exhibit in the future!
Tis' a fine jest @leone but April Fools Day was over two weeks ago. In serious answer to your question: Nothing notable has been announced.
From a Tourism Australia newsletter: "Crickey! Glamping at Australia Zoo is coming soon to Queensland The Queensland Government has announced a partnership with Australia Zoo to deliver Camp Crocodile Hunter, an $8 million wildlife camping experience on the Sunshine Coast. The projected 108 site camping ground will offer caravan areas, glamping-style tents and eco cabins with an on-site café, an entertainment and pool area, cooking areas, school camp facilities, and a mountain bike pump track. Named after former Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, Camp Crocodile Hunter will be officially launched by Terri, Bindi and Robert Irwin in 2020 as part of Australia Zoo’s 50th anniversary celebrations."
Regarding the expensive entrance fee (plus extras) at Australia Zoo, I wonder what the rates per night will be. Only something for millionaires, I presume...
I believe the new Ruffed Lemurs are not on public view but for an added fee one can view them behind the scenes!
Their fastest ride to date is the roller coaster of commercialism. It’s much faster than the steam train of zoological development, which broke down a number of years ago.
So true I could not of put that better myself, I would have hoped perhaps a new exhibit would of marked the 50th year but not the case. I am very happy that we have the Darling Downs zoo in Qld a true zoological garden in my view!
Don't give them any ideas with mentioning of Roller coasters, or perhaps Go Karts are one of their future deveopments, LOL
Are there proects , plans, in pdf on aviary mountains ? That near at the new land Australia habitat retreat ?
Yes, and the notion underwhelming hypocrisy in their PR policy. I am really so, so, so .... sad and dismayed the legacy of the late and indominatable Steve Irwin has been made a travesty of so much of late at his homeground.
Could not agree more. He wanted a Gorllia troop also Orangs among other things, The mention of it on the zoos website has long since been removed!
He also listed the desire to house sumatran rhinos on their census and plan. But then when rhinos, hippos, pygmy hippos and more where for sale in 2003 he passed on all of it. Then assumedly again (plus primates bears, lions and more) right before his death. I think Australia Zoo has always been as much a theme park as a zoo. I'm not entirely convinced they want to be anything but that.
