    Bayou Wildlife Zoo is an open-range facility located in Alvin, Texas. The zoo has 500 animals from 60+ species including ostrich, plains zebra, gaur, American alligator, generic giraffe, barasingha deer, nilgai, Indian blackbuck, scimitar-horned oryx, Pere David's deer, emu, ring-tailed lemur, Bactrian camel, dromedary camel, American bison, and white-tailed deer.

    On January 3rd, 2021, the zoo announced that a (0.0.1) domestic pig (breed not given) was born.

    On January 9th, the zoo announced that (0.0.2) emus have been born.

    On March 17th, the zoo announced they have acquired a (1.0) Fennec fox named Ranger from an undisclosed facility.

    On August 28th, the zoo announced they have acquired a (0.0.1) ring-tailed lemur, (0.0.1) African crest porcupine, and (0.0.1) bat-eared fox from a closed zoo.

    On October 20th, it was reported that Dana Lewis and her family bought the zoo from its original owner back in 2020.

    *Note: I have no idea what antelope this is, so I could use some help identifying it thank you.
    Also, there are probably more births I missed, as I have no time frame on when they were born.

    @Smaggledagle — The antelope pictured are red lechwe, and the deer in the same post are barasingha, not white-tailed.

    Having grown up 15 minute away from this place and went once a week until a I started grade school, it’s never going to not be weird to me to see this place referred to as a “Zoo” instead of “Bayou Wildlife Park.”

    BTW, did they ditch the white rhinos? They had up to four of them at one point and they were one of their main features along with the giraffe (singular, they only had the one: Ralph).
