After its success last year, this competition is back by popular request. You may nominate ONE photo below that you think was the best photo uploaded to ZooChat in 2019.

    Rules:
    1) Photo must be posted on ZooChat and have been taken in 2019. If the date taken (not date uploaded) is not listed in the caption, please click the tab under the photo that says "information." This will give the camera info including date taken. (Photos uploaded in 2019 were not necessarily taken in 2018).

    2) Submit one photo and one photo only. Please provide a link to the photo. (Multiple photos count if uploaded as one photo - see the post below).

    3) Please do NOT nominate your own photo.

Deadline to nominate photos will be January 10 2020 or until there are 10 nominations.

There are so many really good photographers who have take outstanding shots that I would not be able to select any single photo over many others. All great!

I was trying to figure out how to go back through the photos I have liked to find one to nominate. I just figured it out so I will list how to do it in case it helps anyone else. (Of course if you never like or comment on photos it will not help, but I hope this encourages you to start doing so in the future).

On the top bar scroll over media, then on the drop down bar below that click on watched content and then on the new drop down bar click on watched media.

@littleRedPanda Are you using a computer? If so (and if you have liked photos over the last year) it should work. If you are using a phone then maybe it doesn't work (I only view ZooChat on my computer).

    @Arizona Docent yes, a computer .... but
"Automatically watch media that you add or when you comment..." was deselected in my preferences. Oh well, i'll leave it selected for next year.

Because I have uploaded a lot this year, it's also not a great option for me.

Another search option (though I have not tried it and am not sure how to do it) would be to look for only those photos that have 4 or 5 star ratings. The problem is very few people actually use the star ratings, but it will bring up some of the best.

This gives me content I have commented on, not content I have liked.

    I nominate Simba by @hjkr

    Simba - ZooChat

A very striking lion, posing nicely amongst the yellow dandelions on the crest of a hill, looking straight into the camera with the breeze and the sun on his face.

I almost nominated that one, I was hoping someone else would. :)
!!! This might be a time people would vote for the photo just because of the subject (not that it's a bad photo of course). ;)

I always want to showcase the work of Asian zoochatters in this contest, but typically find that there is a European offering that I can't ignore. This year I'm delighted to be able to nominate a photo of such significance. And, although it's a bit unconventional, there is something about this one that I find really quite moving.
