Two out of the three breeding aviaries at the Black Stilt breeding centre at Twizel in inland Canterbury have collapsed under heavy snow in near-record low temperatures of -20°C. Oh dear, that is unfortunate. I heard it was pretty cold down there. I like how some of the birds aren't missing, because they've been "seen".
