Ok, so there's this website called WikiAves and I believe it may be of good use to some of you, mainly those who are interested in birdwatching. Besides being a wiki with info about most brazilian bird species, it's also a forum with a big collection of photos taken in the wild by its fellow members (sounds familiar except for the "in the wild" and "fellow" parts, uh?), as well as sounds and reported geographic occurrences, all of the latter sorted by species. Although not the entire site is translated to english, like the wiki and the forum (the browser automatic translation is usable for such purposes), the species names are so their respective photos, sounds and reported geographic occurrences can be accessed by both popular (english or portuguese) and scientific names.
