Captive Breeding for Vaquitas?

    in a few hours there will be general elections in Mexico. The next president must decide if to continue the vaquita conservation program which is very expensive and is opposed by the local fishermen. Any thing can happen. International support for the vaquita recovery program would be very important now.

    International Save the Vaquita Day is July 8th
    The recently elected mexican president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador is still undecided about continuing the vaquita conservation program which is very unpopular among the local fishermen. Whether there are 40, 30. 12 or less vaquitas they deserve a chance to survive. Support the vaquita NOW-

    To clarify on the title: the ban is specific to seafood caught using gillnets in the northern Gulf of California; it is not a blanket ban on all Mexican seafood imports.
