    Between October 15th, 2018, and December 31st, 2021, there was a hurricane that caused massive damage to the facility, and the original designer of the facility and Wild Kingdom host Jim Fowler passed away in May 2019. Transfers include a (1.0) south-central black rhino named Dubya to Tanganyika Wildlife Park in Kansas in November 2019. In May 2021, new exhibits were built for their ring-tailed lemurs, red-ruffed lemurs, and African spurred tortoise. Here is the news for 2022:

    On April 11th, it was reported that the zoo received $2,965 from the US Fish and Wildlife Service and the AZA.

    Chehaw Park & Zoo awarded funds for endangered species COVID-19 relief

    On May 8th, the zoo announced that (0.0.2+?) African straw-colored fruit bats were born.

    On June 20th, the zoo announced they have acquired a (0.1) bald eagle from the Avian Reconditioning Center in Florida the week prior. She is located in the bald eagle exhibit across the suspension bridge.

    Piece of 2022 News I missed:

    On April 26th, it was reported that the zoo's owners (who also own the Flint RiverQuarium) are seeking $4 million from the town to add new exhibits to the facility.

    Artesian Alliance embarking on new master plan

    On August 20th, it was reported that $109 million was given to the town, of which some of it was used to increase the funding for the zoo, among other areas of the town.

    $109 million tax initiative for Albany, Dougherty County improvements to be on Nov. 8 ballot

    On February 14th, 2023, the zoo announced they renovated their eastern diamondback rattlesnake/timber rattlesnake exhibit in the Reptile House.

    They've been a part of the AZA's Pathway Toward Membership program for some time now so I'd assume that's what it's in reference to.
