Does anyone know weather Chester is planning to welcome a new breeding bull to mate with Kitani, Zuri, Malindi and later Ema

Probably, but not for a while. My guess is that they will wait to send juvenile males Gabe, Ike, and Jumanee to different facilities before bringing in a new bull.

Please can you remember to include which species you are talking about, not everyone is a regular to the zoo to know who you are referring to.

They may decide to keep either Gabe or Ike just because they're not over represented via their father (Kifaru) but it's probably just be lack of availability to move them to.

It would be nice to see a new breeding bull here eventually though.

It was mentioned in one of the Chester Zoo forums at some point, but there has recently been construction near the Lion enclosure along the paths near the Giraffes. Has there actually been any update on what is going to be there?

If it is actually an enclosure, as I'm sure many of us would hope, what species(s) do you think would be displayed there?

It looks like a really nice enclosure and as far as I know it will be home to some type of goat, but I don't have any specific details.

A caprine of some kind at Chester would be really nice. If it isn't some domestic breed, my guess would have to be some South Asian species of some kind like markhor or tahr but from what I saw of the enclosure it didn't seem particularly suitable for them.

I visited in April 2022 and did see a male sun bear in the outdoor enclosure. The bush dogs and anteater where inside so I'm guessing they had no outdoor access temporarily or have an off show paddock towards the back of the house.
