If so it is very disappointing, all those species are already on show in the zoo.

I would imagine they have more species lined up and surely will have some further off-exhibit facilities for breeding too.

They used to be on-show in RORA but got switched with the Angle-headed Lizards about 18 months back! But as both species look very alike a little bit I will let Bongorob off just this once for getting the 2 confused!!!!

The Black Rhino calf has been named, Gabe

Sixth baby rhino born at British zoo gives new hope for endangered animal - Mirror Online

    From a visit today:

Islands - Tigers are currently offshow and the boat ride is out of service for maintenance. The river has been partially drained and work is currently underway on the boat loading area. Gibbons and Orangutans were both showing well this afternoon

Bembe restaurant (the part after you enter the zoo) is also closed for refurbishment work

Major work is also underway on what was the Wetlands aviary (opposite the Dikdiks) the aviary is empty of animals, the roof has been removed and appears to be being replaced. If it will stay a Wetlands aviary remains to be seen...

I visited the Zoo again today. To my surprise the Bornean Orangs where in the former Sumatran Orang part and looked very settled. The only major change in ROTRA was some new bark on the floor and a couple of trees moved. The Sumatrans have been given access to there outdoor enclosure so it was nice to see Emma,Tripa and Indah swinging around Puluh was sheltering in the tunnel from the rain.

Any idea when the aye-aye enclosure's modifications will be complete, or if work on the second phase of islands will begin this year?

The aye-aye work should not take long, I haven't heard about the next phase of Islands.

Will the old orangutan house remain now the borneos have moved as an off show breeding facility or will it be demolished eventually?
