Huh. That’s interesting, I’ll have to ask on my next visit.

I can also look into it when I visit this summer. Doesn't the margay occupy its old enclosure?

No, their exhibit was combined with the Geoffroy's cat's, and now it contains Bearcats.

So the margay isn’t on exhibit?

They are, or are speculated to still be.

The zoo added a Saddle-billed stork to the Plains exhibit. A species that was in there in 2015 but only lasted a couple of months.

It wasn't actually in that enclosure, it was the one in the open topped wetlands in the Africa trail. The one with the elephant skull in it.

I saw that exhibit only once, I never knew there was an exhibit there until like my 7th visit.

That's most likely because it was empty for awhile and then taken over by a Crested Screamer, a species that most people don't pay much attention to.

ok I remember this now. I was like 14 or so when I saw the Stork and like 2 years later came back and there was a Crested Screamer and I was disappointed because they were already exhibited in wildlife canyon.

I was disappointed too after I found out they were replaced with those screamers.

The new Galapagos tortoise exhibit is now open. It appears their former yard may have been expanded to share room with the back half of the former Monkey Island. When this was announced, the zoo said that the adjacent space would be used for Bald eagles - they however, are not mentioned.

The zoo mentioned the progress of the other half of the Monkey Island renovation - the new bald eagle habitat. It will in fact not be home to Sam but rather several other rescued bald eagles. It appears that it will be open topped.

I may have missed it before, but what are the renovations for the other half of the exhibit?
