Just left the zoo. Aside from Bear Hollow construction (Which I took plenty of pics of) the only things of note I saw were:
    • The Fossas are now being displayed in the former Leopard exhibit next to the rhinos.
    • There was a moving crate inside the former Colobus Monkey indoor holding. Either the Colobus are coming back or another smaller primate is moving in.
    • Yagga Tree and the Homestead are still shut down.
    • Didn't make the trek to PCA but I've heard they're getting ready to reopen the shark tank.

I am thinking of a trip possibly at the beginning of November. Will they have the large outdoor birds (Chilean Flamingos, Grey Crowned Cranes, Marabou Storks, White Backed Vultures, Red Crowned Cranes etc...) locked up indoors during this time due to Avian Flu? Excited to see the zoo during the most colorful time of the year!!!! :D

It's possible. Zoos up this way are starting to lock up susceptible birds again, as fall migrations start.

I think they always do in the winter... the signs say "In for Winter." @Sarus Crane, when was your last trip up there? Cleveland Metroparks Zoo still has Chilean flamingos, marabou storks, white-backed vultures and red-crowned cranes, but no grey crowned cranes. I think Columbus still does, but not Cleveland. Also, if you want to see fall foliage, mid- to late October is probably a better bet for the Cleveland area (that's how it usually is- I'm a local).

Bear Construction Question for anyone who's been to the zoo recently:

Which bears are visible right now? Looking at Cleveland for a possible visit soon and want to know which bears would be possible to see first.

Cool! Grizzly and Black live in separate grottoes (rotating between two habitats, one of which was formerly polar bear) which need renovation bad, too. Sloth and sun moved to Asian Highlands

So which animals can be seen in Asian Highlands? Are two bear, two Leopard, and red panda all visible, or do some animals rotate off? If there is rotation on and off exhibit, is there any good way to make sure you have the chance to see a specific species (sun bear)?

    Hello,

I was not aware the sloth bears are on exhibit there until now! I think the sun bear is all the time- at least in the afternoons- and both leopards (Amur and snow) and red panda are visible all the time. I've seen the sun bear in early afternoons, but I am not 100% sure.

Scruffy the Sun Bear resides in Asian Highland. Sloth Bear I believe was using the old Polar Bear grotto last time I was there (Although they weren't out). Andean I don't know about

Shiva the female sloth bear has been down at the Columbus for the past couple of months. I've seen her there on exhibit. I did hear from a zoo volunteer though that Balawat the male sloth bear is still at the zoo and rotates on exhibit with the black bears (former polar bear exhibit) as mentioned above.

Did the Andean bear move out or is it being kept the holding area?

According to @Moebelle's "Zoo Tours" video of Australian Adventure (I believe the footage is from this year) there is now a Barn Owl living in the former kookaburra cage in Australian Adventure near the restrooms.

Andean Bears Cayenne and Alfred will be temporarily leaving the zoo, while construction is being done to their enclosure. I do not know where they are going, but they will most likely return at some point.
