What zoos have matschie's tree kangaroos (Dendrolagus matschie)?

    Can you help me?

Cologne and San Diego safari park have them, however, cologne only have one and it is aging. I think Beauval have them also

    Hi Jonas,

welcome to ZooChat. For this kind, I'd recommend to take a look the Zootierliste.

Despite what ZTL says, Beauval’s pair are still alive.

True, but your original question did not specify that..^^

Then ypu should log in and update that. Or inform the ZTL moderators.

I requested a log in about six months ago...still haven’t heard back.
And the last couple of times I tried to get ZTL updated the user I asked to edit it got told they were incorrect even though the source was always a keeper who worked at the zoo in question with the animals in question, and the correction was reversed - so I haven’t bothered since then

I have however just noticed that ZTL have updated the Matschie’s holdings based on a Facebook correspondence with Beauval - so am glad to see that’s been corrected

Just emailed ZIMS asking about this, will wait for a reply. Usually takes a few days.

I do think - although not fully sure - there may be more Matschie's tree kangaroo in- and outside range (closer to Papua NG).

Certainly, more zoos close to the region have tree kangaroo (not just the matschiei, goodfellowi or lumholtzi) in their collections.

Milwaukee's tree kangaroos are behind the scenes and Minnesota might no longer keep them.

None of these zoos currently hold any Tree Kangaroos

Milwaukee do not currently hold this species
