I've got the following books by E. G. Boulenger:- A Naturalist at the Zoo The Aquarium Book The London Zoo The Zoo Cavalcade The Zoo and Aquarium Book Queer Fish A Naturalist at the Dinner Table Searchlight on Animals Animal Mysteries Animal Ways Animals in the Wild and in Captivity Apes and Monkeys E. G. Boulenger also contributed the chapter on fish in Volume 3 of "List of the Vertebrated Animals Exhibited in the Gardens of the Zoological Society of London 1828 – 1927: Centenary Edition" (1929) I'm sure that there are a number of other books by this author that I'm not familiar with; it would be intetesting to know if other ZooChatters have any different titles written by E. G. Boulenger.
E G Boulenger was the son of George Albert Boulenger, who was born in Belgium but worked at the Natural History Museum with Günther and became a British subject. He described many reptiles, amphibians and fishes, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Society. Many animals were also named in his honour, including the largest of all the cichlids, Boulengerochromis microlepidotus.
After he retired from the Natural History Museum, G. A. Boulenger returned to his native Belgium where he spent his "retirement" working in the Brussels Natural History Museum. In Brussels, he concentrated on botany, instead of herpetology and ichthyology, and became an expert in the classification of roses.
E. G. Boulenger also wrote World Natural History (1937). This is a single volume animal encyclopedia laid out along taxonomic lines. In common with other books of the genre it is full of interesting anecdotes.
