Guys can we also inculde bulls in asian zoos?

Chengdu zoo's elephant bull apparently on a few websites is considered the largest bull in captivity (zoo) in asia, i have no idea of his name though. He could have a very strong chance gainst the bulls in Europe.
Would anyone have an idea of the size of Europe's oldest bull Chieng Mai?

About weights. There are only a few zoos who has scales strong enough for an elephant. Therefore most zoos are guessing the weight of an elephant. We only know for sure that Radza is 7.200 kilograms because when he was lifted in his box into the exhibit the cranedriver could see how heavy the animal+box was. While lifting the empty box back on the truck he could see how heavy this was. So the elephant minus box was 7.200 kg.

About height. This is easier of course but by far not all zoos are telling the public how tall their elephants are. And if they have an elephant of big seize they often adding some extra centimeters to the real height.

I did some readings at German forums and the found following - more or less - facts:

Boy of Kiev Zoo is 3.25 meters.
Colonel Joe of Circus Krone is 3.20 meters.
Bindu of Cologne and Radza of Emmen are 3.15 meters. (Altough some are telling that Bindu is 3.25 m)

Assam of Kharkov who died in 2000 seems to be 3.25 meters.

I think Radza is the heaviest bull with 7.200 kilograms.

Boy sounds like a real tall bull, I have seen a photo of him on an elephant website but his head is not visible because of another (cow) elephant standing in front of him, but from what I can see he appears huge

I agree MARK, Boy seems to be a huge bull, though i can't find many clear of him on the net. Does any here have any? I know this might be stupid to ask but does Boy have any tusks?

    thank you once again,
many sites have different measurments, some sites say that Radza is 3.25. But it is most likely that he is 3.15 meters right?
Radza would be Europe's heavist bull, confirmed. But that depends if Joe's weight is true or not. Your local zoo is Emmen untbwe right? Do you know the height of former emmen bull Naing Thein or his weight? One site ( elephant.se) states that he weighs 5700kgs.

Might visit the zoo this sunday, depending if i can juggle homework and if my parents let me, I'll see if i can ask the keepers if they can confirm Bong Su's measurement.

I think the 5.700 kg for Naing Thein is correct. He is not that tall. The 3.15 m of Radza could be right, because some of the fences in his (or actually the cows) stables are 3.00 meters when lifted up. And he has to bent a little to walk underneath!

So from the information we have at this point its looking like the biggest bull in Europe is Radza or Boy

    ... amongst the Asian elephants...

I think that in height it is Boy but in weight it is Radza. So maybe we should decide what criteria we should use.

And for the future: I hope Sammy will be a big bull. He's still growing 5 centimeters each year and is now 295 centimeters. He needs some more muscles but that's a matter of time. He is a young bull.

Myo Set Kaung, the first son of Radza, has already long tusks for his age (almost 3) and hopely will have a nice pair in the future. If he will be as big as his father? We can't tell at this moment.

Here is Myo Set Kaung on March 2 this year. Behind him Letsongmon, his uncle of the same age. In front of him is Unt Bwe walking.

As you can see Myo Set Kaung has smaller ears then Letsongmon. He has the ears of his father Radza while Letsongmon has the ears of Naing Thein. Letsongmon has hardly any tusks.

Naing Thein also has hardly any tusks, just like all his male offspring

    Pictures taken from both tusks

As you can see, little tusks

Yes he is pretty impressive, with that much height and mass he could be the top contender, a nice looking bull indeed. :D
