Rothschild's giraffe calf born in January (George x Lizzie) has been named Sophie by the public. Anyone know what Lizzie's 2nd calf born 2015, was called ?

Only just caught up with this! As far as I know Godzilla and Ernie are the two Hippos in residence - I shall seek confirmation on my next visit.

Thanks for confirming, shame they've left Bristol, but good they've stayed in the UK.

Thank-you, it was only after I'd been told I thought I should have asked.

Visited yesterday, confirmed Hippos in residence are Ernie and Godzilla. Asked re Lizzie's 2015 calf, not sure which one was Lizzie's but the calves born in 2015 were Dottie (maybe "Dotty", didn't ask re spelling) and Savannah (hopefully with an aitch). House for Yellow-footed Rock Wallabies was due to be completed yesterday (looked about done near 6 o'clock) with outdoor bit to add - 7 animals currently behind the scenes.

that's all a confusing mess! From the first post, perhaps it was the female Betty which died via tennis ball, and it was just old news presented as new news? Nisha's post is the most confusing, and must be simply due to keeper error in what she was told.

Yes, Betty died last year, leaving Ernie and Godzilla.

The outdoor bit for the Rock Wallabies is going to be incorporated into the walk-through - rocks will be positioned in front of the new shelter which is in the left-hand corner of the area. The Rock Wallabies are expected to remain around the rocks but will not be confined there and will be able to use the whole of the walk-through exhibit if they wish (I had previously thought it was going to be a fenced area - my mistake). One young male Rock Wallaby has been excluded from the group and is currently housed in the paddock for kangaroos and some wallabies (several Swamps and the two remaining Bennett's) next door to the walk-through.
