Wild Florida in Kenansville, FL (South of Orlando) has a small "zoo" with native and exotic wildlife. They also offer airboat rides.

Also, Croc Encounters in Tampa, FL. As the name implies, they primarily have crocodiles and aligators, and caimans, but they also have other reptiles. They are open every day for guided tours ($45 a person, $99 for 5 people) and on Saturday for self-guided tours ($5 a person).

There also used to be the Pier Aquarium in St. Petersburg, FL. However, it closed when the pier closed. They intend to open a new facility this fall (2017) and rename it Marine Exploration Center:
COMING to the Port of St.Petersburg!

@Bib Fortuna I have the Museum of Science (Miami) already on the list and the big shark tank appears to be both unique and spectacular.

@tampasteve I'd heard about the new aquarium in St. Petersburg and it will also be interesting to see if a major aquarium in Jacksonville ever gets built.

One thing about all of these Florida zoos is that only 17 are AZA-accredited and so there is essentially a vast number of privately-owned, for-profit facilities in the state.

The fruit stand called "Robert is Here" in Homestead, Florida (apparently renowned for exotic fruits and shakes) has a small petting zoo in back. There is one large paddock with anything from emus to spurred tortoises to cows, and a small set of aviaries for parrots and pigeons. I will leave it to @snowleopard to decide whether or not to call it a zoo, but I did not and never plan to.

Very true, some of the non AZA are ZAA accredited, for what that is worth, and some are AZA and ZAA.

Thanks very much for the updates. I gained Gatorworld to add to my list but then I found out that this place closed down its butterfly walk-through display: Museum of Science & Industry: BioWorks Butterfly Garden (Tampa). We are still at 100 zoos!

No problem. Yeah, they closed down the butterfly garden, quite a loss really. It is difficult as the museum is feuding with local municipal and philanthropic groups as they want to move to a new facility to be built down town where most of the museums are, but the philanthropic groups are pushing back because they donated so much on the current facility. Now the museum is closing a large part of the building to save costs. It is hard to see how this all plays out, but supposedly they will build a new facility.

Well, technically those two establishments are not AZA accredited as here is the updated list as of April 2018:

    Currently Accredited Zoos and Aquariums

On a side note, I've visited approximately 80% of all of the USA's accredited zoos and aquariums.

Both White Oak and Lubee are part of the 13 establishments that are AZA "certified related facilities".

    Currently Certified Related Facilities

I've only visited 3 of the "certified related facilities".

That's kind of interesting, I normally use the "find a facility" to get a list of everywhere and both White Oak and Lubee appear on there, but some of the other related facilities don't. I wonder what makes the difference. I thought the only difference between accredited vs certified was being open to the public? So closed facilities wouldn't technically meet all of the accredited guidelines because some involve things relating to guests.

Most likely. Accredited Facilities also have stringent rules on off view area organization and how things are set up, I would imagine Certified are far less stringent in that regard.

Dolphins Plus - Oceanside no longer exists. There's now Dolphins Plus: Marine Mammal Responder, I don't know if that's the same location?

Florida Museum, home of the Butterfly Rainforest, now also has a multi-year exhibit with several live croc species.

Imaginarium is now IMAG History & Science Center.

The Miami Science Museum / Museum of Science is now Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science / Frost Science.

The Museum of Science and Industry no longer has a butterfly garden.

Panhandle Butterfly House no longer exists, but they're looking for a new location.

I believe the zoo at Pioneer Park is now the Hardee County Wildlife Refuge? The websites for the Park aren't loading to confirm that way, but I found a lot about the refuge in the park.

South Florida Museum is now Bishop Museum of Science and Nature.

My personal list has exactly 150 places on it! I'm sure there's more out there, but that's what I've got so far. I should note that I only count petting zoo/farm type places if they have several wild species - bison, zebras, lemurs, deer, alligators, etc. (not alpacas, camels, or llamas).

Thanks to the excellent work of @TinoPup , I've been able to expand the list of Florida zoos to a whopping 119 establishments. There are many more captive wildlife facilities in the state, but I've been a little picky in assembling a list of 'accessible' locations. I haven't included anywhere that is only open for one or two days per month, or is almost entirely farm animals, or has extremely limited and expensive private tours, or is an outreach center that visits schools and businesses, etc. The 119 zoos below are all ones that are open to the public on a daily basis or are easily accessible via pre-booked tours and therefore it wouldn't be difficult to visit any of these zoos on a long Florida road trip.

    119 Florida Zoos:

Lubee and White Oak are both tour-only, with tours being minimum $100; not sure if that qualifies as expensive or not. I've been working on a google map of east coast places and have color-coded markers for ones that are only open certain days, or are tour-only.
