Toronto has a nice collection of hoofstock, though like many zoos, not as large as it once was. They have:

    Greater Kudu
    Common Impala
    White Rhino
    Indian Rhino
    Grevy's Zebra
    Masai Giraffe
    Warthog
    Red River Hog
    Wapati
    Wood Bison
    North American Moose
    Bactrian Camel
    Barbary Sheep (being phased out)
    Chamois (being phased out)
Scimitar Horned Oryx (being phased out)
    West Caucasian tur
    Domestic yak
    Reindeer
    Malayan Tapir
    Sable Antelope
    Mouflon
    Przewalski's horse

It is rumoured that they may get Blue Sheep, and planned are Okapi and duiker. In the past they had Bongo, Musk Ox, Barasingha Deer, Dall's Sheep, Wisent, Thomson's Gazelle, European Wild Boar, Pronghorn, Dwarf Water Buffalo, Chinese Water Deer, Dromedary camel, Cape buffalo (I know they were in the 70's plans, not sure if they were ever exhibited though), Baird's Tapir (never exhibited), Black tailed deer, Gemsbok, White-tailed deer, Reeves's muntjac (which the zoo is planning on getting again), Manchurian sika deer, Topi, Plains Zebra.

Just for your information, if there is a best zoo in the world -- for comparing different hoofstock species, it would have to be the Berlin Tierpark (in the former East Berlin). They have 3 different species of zebras, exhibited in side-by-side open paddocks. They also have all 4 llama species, right next to each other in huge grassy fields. It's also the only zoo where I've seen both Sizuan and Mischmi (sp) takins. Plus, they have so, so much more! An amazing zoo.

Okay... Everyone says the San Diego Zoo and San Diego Wild Animal park are the best for seeing animals. NOT! I have gone to these places all of my life and have realized that there are many other zoos that are better for seeing animals... hoofstock at least. Over the years the two facilities have gotten rid of soooo many good hoofed animals and now they are left with no rare and different ungulates.

I agree with Jedibiscuits. As I have stated on another thread, it seems as if the San Diego Wild Animal Park has gone way down in antelope numbers. I mean both herd sizes as well as number of different species.

Now I just found out that the Toronto Zoo got rid of their chamois and west caucasian tur, as well as a few other hoofed animals. Now the only place that I'm aware of to see chamois is in Europe. Am I right? Does anyone know if there are chamois in any North American zoos, preferably the US? How about the turs?

I am almost certain that the chamois are still at the Toronto Zoo. However I know that the turs have left.

Ok thanks. I just emailed and asked and they didnt say that they had them like I asked. Is that the only place in North America to see them? How about roe deer? Does anyone know if there is a zoo in North America with roe deer?

I am not certain but I think that the Mountain View Conservation Centre might have chamois. I have not herd of the chamois leaving as a matter of fact I saw them yesterday...

Which of the following animals does the Toronto zoo have:
    moose
    blue sheep, bharal
    wild boar
    musk ox
    barasingha deer
    dall's sheep
    European bison, wisent

The Toronto Zoo has moose out of all of that list. They had Dall's Sheep which were moved out 3 years back. We also had wisent, and musk ox which our last of each species died last summer (2009)

We have never had barasingha deer or blue sheep, bharal or if I am wrong I could be corrected, but we have had wild boars.

We did have Barashinga at one point, you could see them on the Monorail in the Indomalaya area, out of walking view

Isn't Gladys Porter Zoo in southern Texas supposed to be a hoof stock/antelope specialist? For example, don't they have species of duikers which no-one else has?

Shadow Nursery has European roe deer. They are the last in North America. As far as hoofstock go Shadow Nursery probably has one of the best for diversity. For equids they have hartmanns(30+), grevys(4), grants, damaras(10+), kiang(9), kulan(40+), onagers(40?), przewalksi(30?), somali wild ass(5), nubian wild ass(8), poitou.

Cervids they have mexican red brockett, chinese water deer, indian muntjac(around 25 of them!), roe deer, formosan muntjac, reeves muntjac, mandrian sika, dybowski sika, japanese sika(extremely rare and beautiful), formosan sika, vietmanese sika, white lipped deer, siberian musk deer, bactrian deer, pere david, indian hog deer, axis deer, european fallow, persian fallow.

In the suids there are warthog, javalinas, red river hogs, southern bush pigs, meishan hogs, tamworth hogs, european wild boars,

The list goes on and on. Probably the largest herds of camelids in the country with all members displayed except for vicuna, extensive primate collection and avian collection, numerous rare cattle species and etc!
