My name is Haley. My home zoo is the Woodland Park Zoo. I came here because I heard from a friend that it's a really nice site. All of the threads look very interesting, and I might be checking out multiple different parts of the site.

However, there's some stuff that looks a bit confusing (for example, some of the speculative zoo stuff, and also the population lists), so help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Haley, welcome!
The speculative zoo area replaced what was previously the fantasy zoo forum. It's for people who want to put in the time and effort to create their own hypothetical zoo. It's also for people who want to heavily speculate/imagine what might happen to a zoo that already exists, outside of what's reasonable for that facility's news thread.
What do you find confusing about the population lists?

I was originally confused by the numbers and symbols, but I think I'm beginning to understand what it means.

Sometimes it depends who is doing the list, and they usually define them in the intro. If you see something written as three numbers with a period between each, like 1.1.1, that means number of males, females, and unknown (usually infants).
