The CMZ Facebook page is alluding to a new animal they will be exhibiting thus summer. I've fallen out of the loop, so I have no idea what it is. They've been releasing clues over the past few days. Here they are: 1) Unlike the Allen's Swamp Monkey, it cannot swim (in fact, it may be afraid of water) 2) Like the Zoo's cheetahs (and other cats,) it has a strong homing instinct. I'll post more as they come along. Most popular guess amongst Clevelanders is meerkats, but since they've already announced them I'm not sure thats the answer.
This thread should be posted in the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo forum, not the general discussion forum. Especially since you only used the abbreviation CMZ which I at first assumed meant Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.
I was about to suggest a pidgeon too! I think a Passenger would be unlikely though. Unless it's stuffed. Then it wouldn't be able to swim, but homing would be unlikely.
I'm going to guess a honey bee. Can't swim and has a strong homing capability. I suspect they'll be going down the William Conway "bullfrog route", designing a multi-million dollar award-winning exhibit to showcase their new honey bee and all facets of its life-style. Perhaps in time they may even obtain a mate for their honey bee and set up a breeding programme.
