Guess the country with animals

    I feel like it’s either India, Malaysia or Myanmar. I’m not sure though because the gharial sentence is confusing me.

    I feel like it's the Solomon Islands, though 20mya seems too recent a divergence.

    Nobody specified it should be extant animals...

    Correct! And I just went off a lowball estimate for the divergence which was between the late Ogliocene and early Miocene.

    This country is the only one on its continent with an endemic amphibian genus, and also contains the easternmost enclave of a range-restricted ungulate.

    This country is believed to surprisingly hold (what's believed to be) the most basal species of a common and arid adapted family of passerines, it's also the home of a believed to be EXW mammal, hystricomorphs, 'skunks' and flying squirrels all coexist in one place in this country.

    This country is very biodiverse, and has 13 native afrotherian species. Unfortunately, a lot of the wildlife here was very negatively affected by political issues in the 20th century, including the national animal, which was almost pushed to extinction.
