I admit to being surprised at how many UK collections hold Jaguar . However, not many of the places listed strike me as likely to be aiming to breed from their animals - the species is in decline. I stand by my point - if we want diversity in our carnivore collections, then indulging in mutant Tigers (and now, of course, Lions) is a luxury we cannot afford. Neither is seemingly aiming for a Meerkat per every zoo acre, of course, but don't get me started on that one...
I was told it was only a temporary 'offshow' holding when i saw it in March, destined for Amazona. Where is it onshow now?
I'm pretty sure it said on the sign it was a female and it was in an enclosure next to the snow leopard. I was surprised to see it to be honest.
The Hamerton FB page has teased "exciting new arrivals" which will are scheduled to be arriving next week.
I hope that these new arrivals actually go on show, unlike several other recent arrivals, otherwise they wont be 'exciting' !
Unless its one of the arrivals that hasn't so far gone on show! The crate certainly looks right for them!
They're teasing us now The mind boggles at what the addition might be, never mind the primary arrival
