    I admit to being surprised at how many UK collections hold Jaguar . However, not many of the places listed strike me as likely to be aiming to breed from their animals - the species is in decline. I stand by my point - if we want diversity in our carnivore collections, then indulging in mutant Tigers (and now, of course, Lions) is a luxury we cannot afford.

    Neither is seemingly aiming for a Meerkat per every zoo acre, of course, but don't get me started on that one...

    Thrigby Hall currently has a single Jaguar on show as well

    I was told it was only a temporary 'offshow' holding when i saw it in March, destined for Amazona. Where is it onshow now?

    I'm pretty sure it said on the sign it was a female and it was in an enclosure next to the snow leopard. I was surprised to see it to be honest.

    The Hamerton FB page has teased "exciting new arrivals" which will are scheduled to be arriving next week.

    I hope that these new arrivals actually go on show, unlike several other recent arrivals, otherwise they wont be 'exciting' !

    Unless its one of the arrivals that hasn't so far gone on show!The crate certainly looks right for them!
