The zoo seems small but they have some cool species for a small zoo, like New Guinea Singing Dog, Red Wolf, sumatran tiger, sun bear, Saki monkeys, callimico monkeys, and amur leopards. Here is a video of their Red Wolf exhibit (which i think is pretty good):
a former member visited (http://www.zoochat.com/22/miller-park-zoo-photos-24331/) and apparently nobody else. There are no photos in the Zoochat gallery, but there is an album here from the aforementioned member: Miller Park Zoo pictures by monomach - Photobucket but they don't really give any idea of what the enclosures are like.
Yes, i went to Miller Park Zoo a couple of years ago-its not far from Peoria which with its new African area will be the better zoo.Miller Park not bad tho..has an interesting old Lion House built on the basis of Lincoln Parks[itself supposedly copied off Londons old house, now demolished] in which they had Siberian Red Squirrels![amongst the more expected carnivores].The New Guinea Singing Dog was taken around the zoo for walks. Not a bad little zoo, maybe a two-hour visit. Was looking for a new director at the time.9 acres,37 mammal species,49 bird species, reptiles 19 species, amphibs 9 species, fish 3 species, inverts 6 species. For me 5 out of 10.
I would rather go to the Peoria Zoo also, but sometime this summer I want to go to Peoria Zoo and I will probally go to the Miller Park Zoo.
