Does anyone know where I can get a full list of animals for Dudley Zoo over the years as there seems to be no where on there website for past animal collections
Do any other Zoo/Parks websites have complete list's of all animals they've kept over the years

I now have a complete list of all animals at the zoo from 1937 to 1940 with help from people on this site and from Zoo News I hope to complete my work as early as maybe the late summer as there are still loads to do.
Does anyone know why on the opening day all the animals in the collectiion were from Oxford Zoo and not there own.
I have some very interesting zoo guides and also some interesting photographs.
Can someone tell me why the Tecton Building now know as the Discovery Centre as been altered from it's original design of a cafe eating area.
The enclosure past the old Miniture Railway station and now lost in the wood did originally belong to Sun Bears.
If there are questions anyone as about the early days collection I will try my best to answer them
My project is coming along really well but if anyone as any zoo guides from any year I would love to have a look at them.

Captain W. F. Cooper (of the jam-making family) was the owner of Oxford Zoo from around 1933 and was also one of the original directors of Dudley. Oxford Zoo closed the same year that Dudley opened (1937) and some form of deal was struck to transfer the stock - An article in the Bartlett Society newsletter a few years back by Gwyn Griffiths suggested that Oxford was bought out by the Dudley Zoological Society in its last few months of operation.
