    A new map for the summer season, shows that the Chinese goral have left the collection (perhaps) and that the kiang have been moved off the main reserve to the white lipped deer enclosure, who's former occupants have been relocated to their original enclosure behind the main reserve (keeping up?).
    At a guess, perhaps this could indicate imminent births from either the camels or the yak????? SPECULATION!!!!

    Interesting shuffle.

    A slight surprise as to the location of the snow leopard enclosure, not sure where I'd expected it to be though!

    Have the Pallas' cats gone off show or left?

    They are off-display I believe - not sure they are planned to go back onshow either.

    From the blog;

    At RZSS Highland Wildlife Park, meanwhile, we have had a number of new births, including European elk twins, Turkmenian markhor kids (including a set of twins), Himalayan tahr lambs, five red deer calves, Bukhara deer calf, lynx kittens and a muskox calf.
    As well as 3 Japanese macaque.

    "As well as being the key regional institution for processing wild caught individuals and breeding Scottish wildcats as part of the national conservation action plan, in mid-summer we will be starting construction of a large off-exhibit Amur leopard breeding centre. The point of this facility is to be able to produce leopard cubs that are not habituated to humans and so are eligible for transporting to Russia for the reintroduction programme."

    Reply to my e-mail to the park (20 minutes later);

    Thank you for your email. The snow leopards will be on view by the end of this week - they will be in their large holding pen at first, not in the main enclosure, but will be easily viewable in there (at the top of the hill behind the wolverine).

    Would that be the rocky enclosure where the Turkmenian Markhor are or presumably were?
