Monarto Safari Park hyena birth - a first for australia

    I seem to remember that one of the male cubs went to Perth Zoo, with another one recently joining them, while the female cub born is still at Monarto. This will leave I think 4 at Monarto, 2 males, 2 females.

    Does anybody know what the current situation is at Perth regarding hyaenas - breeding, same sex?

    Yeah, they are not breeding, and they have two young males. So basically Perth's hyenas are just for display.

    another exciting birth at Monarto. I would like to see hyenas at more of the zoos, they would be a good species for Werribee.
