Iida Zoo - a small zoo in Japan

    I found this video of Iida Zoo. Iida is a smallish city in the southern part of Nagano prefecture in central Japan. This short film shows pretty much all of the zoo. It's pretty tiny and depressing. I went there once and never returned.

    On the plus side, I understand they are rennovating or rebuilding the small deer and serow yards.

    I was torn between albino raccoon dog and Arctic fox - but looking again there is actually a normal raccoon dog there as well, asleep in the bottom right corner of the screen....

    I think albino raccoon dogs arenĀ“t that rare because they have been large scale bred for the fur-trade - which is also the reasun why they are now found feral in Western Europe- and large scale breedings quite regulary results with mutations !
