What I find funny is that the one in the video is clearly at least a few hundred feet long, but the JW website lists it as 60 feet. What's with that?
The explaination is quite obvious: it's a Super Mutant Mosasaur that can change size! Probably ate a Pym particle or even Ant-Man himself, thereby tying the different cinematic universes together to make more money. Next stage: Star-Lord takes the raptors to outer space to help the Jedi Na'vi fight Klingon Alien xenomorphs sponsored by Skylab Decepticon leader Nazi-Sauron. Or maybe it's just inconsequent, lazy cinematography aimed at cheap thrills.
The whole point of the Hybrid and the Raptor Training is Hoskins wants use them for military purposes.
6 Reasons Modern Movie CGI Looks Surprisingly Crappy | Cracked.com There's this article that focuses mostly on the JP films, why the older ones looked better than this new one.
One of the original plans for Jurassic World was that it would be about human-dinosaur hybrids. (you can find concept art online, it's pretty stupid looking) Some people are theorizing that JW is taking a bit of inspiration from the scrapped concept with the hybrid dinos, but also that InGen might be making them for reasons other than park attendance. I wouldn't be surprised if that turns out to be the case, since like I and others have pointed out, making I. rex just to attract theme park guests is dumb. I'm wondering what the mosasaur is going to lead up to. Unlike the other reptiles, it can't escape the exhibit and run around, but you don't get something that big and not have it do something cool.
I might go see the movie tomorrow, if so, I'll let you know what I think. I wasn't interested at first, but admittedly, some of the later material got me hyped. I might enjoy it in the same way I did the original Jurassic Park, having fun even if the film sounds like an idiot plot and the animals aren't too accurate.
Went to see it today, Very disappointed the plot just never got me in It was very much about one action scene after another and the human characters never really became likeable.
Saw the movie. As I suspected, I enjoyed it in the same way I enjoyed the first film. Though this time around, the plot wasn't really an Idiot Plot. The plot and characters weren't too interesting (though I did think they were better than the first film, which didn't have very good plot and characters to begin with) and the dino action was cool. In the end, isn't that what I really went in to see? The answer is yes. It's not like we get lots of theatrical dinosaur movies.
I am looking forward to seeing this movie. I am approaching this as 2hrs of entertainment rather than as a documentary about dinosaurs. I expect a wild ride!
