The Kristiansand Zoo in Norway will in 2014 get cheetahs. 3-4 cheetahs will come from Borås Zoo in Sweden. It will be the zoos forth cat species along with lion, tiger and lynx. They will also be the only cheetahs in Norway.

Ah I think the staff were getting a tour of Chester Zoo's facilities last Sunday and I was there when they inspected the Cheetah area and the staff said they were getting Cheetah soon!

This is very much a developing zoo in a country with very few regular zoos. Most Scandinavian countries have their fair share of home turf Nearctic / Northern wildlife animal parks.

I would love to see them converge the giraffe herd into one of the recognised species.

They recently also acquired several female scimitar horned oryx to go with their former all male group.
