I know that others on here have made threads on the largest elephants, but what about the other pachyderms??? I'm really interested in knowing more since it seems that a lot of species will grow larger in captivity than their wild counterparts if given the right nutrition. I've seen several pics of what seem to be record sized specimens in zoos. We'll make several categories for the different species. If anyone can attach which individuals, their dimensions and where they live/lived (can include past & present) that would be great. I'm curious to discover who will be the champions in these categories: Hippos Nile Pygmy Rhinos Black White Indian Tapirs Lowland Baird's Mountain Malayan
I'm not sure about absolute size, but the horns on the white rhino at Busch have to be some of the largest I have seen.
