I wonder whether any Zoochat members have any knowledge of Lex Noordermeer.

Lex was one of the first European zoo enthusiasts I got to know: he wrote (occasionally) for International Zoo News, in the early 1990s, and co-organsied the 1995 Zoohistorica, in Rotterdam (his fellow organiser was Marc Damen, who would subsequently go on to be the director of the zoo).

Lex was subsequently involved with the (then) excellent Blijdorp Blad magazine, and, as far as I know, carried on with this until about 2010. The last time I saw him was when visiting Blijdorp in 2008. He was as friendly, as charming and as enthusiastic as ever.

I've not heard from him for a while; this could just be because he was a notoriously awful correspondent, but I would be very glad to hear any news of him - particularly from any Dutch members who might know him, or news of him.

    Hi,

I am Lex’ daughter. Let me know if you still need information (5 years later).

    Kind regards,
